Toms-Price Wheaton designer, Peggy du Mont, shows how to add wow factor to your room with the introduction of Habersham’s new collection called American Treasures.
It’s true that one jaw-dropping piece of furniture in a room gives it a solar-like focus around which all the other pieces can revolve. “How can I find that perfect piece,” you ask? My go-to company has often been Habersham which takes the level of furniture making to an art. It’s an upscale investment to be sure but if you are just choosing one piece to make a statement it’s possible for even the budget-conscious.
Even though Habersham is high-end, it mixes well with other furniture – even a roomful of flea market finds! It will make everything look better. American Treasures is a new collection for Habersham. It moves away from the very large carved and heavily distressed pieces in some of their other groups. I love this more streamlined transitional look and find it blends well with many styles – even more traditional ones. It also has many pieces scaled down for smaller homes.
Toms-Price designers are careful to ask whether large pieces are going to fit in your home. I once designed a Lincoln Park town home and used an immense library wall from Habersham. The space had plenty of room to contain it, but the problem would have been moving it in through narrow halls and stairways. Habersham custom-made it in 6 pieces instead of 3 for an easy fit.
At Toms-Price in Wheaton we are showing four stunning new examples of the American Treasures collection. Here I am sitting in front of the Loft Bookcase. This piece is definitely tall at 93 inches high. That characteristic, along with the unique shelving design, makes the statement: “I am out of the ordinary!”
Now, let’s talk customization. A plethora of finishes and colors are available. Everything from Old World distressing to dozens of gorgeous colors allow you to tailor any piece to fit your interior perfectly. And, you can do this to a lesser or greater extent. For instance, when you look at their sample board, you can decide if you want to back off an effect anywhere from 25 to 75% of what is shown. Habersham will make a custom sample for you to approve. You can match any Benjamin Moore or Sherwin-Williams color, too.
People today are adding some GLAM with mirrors or metallics. Habersham excels at this as shown in their Cosmopolitan Curio with glass doors, below. It’s versatile in that you can choose a mirrored or wood back inside the cabinet and glass or mirrored doors.
So remember, one special piece can really upgrade a room with wow factor. Toms-Price carries many other furniture lines where you can find knock-out statement pieces, too. I would love to show you examples. Click the links below to see more photos of the new Habersham pieces now showing in our Wheaton store.
A wonderful bedroom accent would be this Crown Point Chest in distressed saddle gray with antiqued mirrors. The Atelier Display Cabinet (also showing at our Lincolnshire store) has adjustable glass shelves and a mirrored back panel. It’s shown in an elegant bathroom setting.
